Why I worry about Dalit is because if we keep one limb weak, if they join Muslims or if we are not together and we Hindus lose to Muslims, Brahmans or Dalits are massacred at hand of Muslims, or converted en-mass by Christians, I will be one feeling the most loss.

A more reasonable solution is income based reservation, but we are pushing the rock for long without rock showing any signs of movement, it can injure us. Instead we can work on industrialization, investment. Uplift the poor, marginalize the rich among sc/st, remove the better off casts from OBC list, weaken the need for reservation. Make governance transparent where there is no black money and nobody can fool system, where each penny in pocket of each citizen is declared and white. I hope after such steps are implemented then you have cut the rock and made it smaller now you can remove it from the road which leads to equality.

National Interest Should be at Heart

I have
no problem, if my own Hindu brothers who were suppressed both by Muslims and
some Hindus, if they get few jobs from reservation. But yes seeing some rich off claiming reservation in the name of caste really hurts others who work hard to get a job.
India was under Muslim & Christian rule for 1000 years prior to 1947. Muslims destroyed each school, each university, each factory, each masons workshop. But according to liberals, it was Brahmins only who suppressed masses, according to Brahmins it is the reservation which is biggest discrimination and not the Kashmiri Pandits forced expulsion. Until they dont get job, they blackmail govt for job, vacancies must be filled, there should be more schools (not so that more poor get education) so that more people get job. When they get the position they say we are not getting such and such facility and so on, and then look for opportunity to strike, the habit of blackmailing doesn't go away.
Habit starts very early, high school guys want to pass Matriculation by cheating only, then they get certificate and want jobs by bribing, leaking paper, changing the person in exam, everything. I have studied in Govt school, college university all the way. My own experience of Matriculation (10th) and Intermediate (12th) says, 90% guys were not worthy of passing but they passed by cheating. I saw my school teachers going to help their son in cheating, they contact exam checker to get higher grade.
Most often salaries and facility in govt job is much higher than justified, in addition surplus bribe, it is for this additional loot that everyone clamours for.

A semi-literate Indian mostly thinks that Govt. has a minting machine, Govt. should create more positions, and pay them more salary, while there is no net production, that's how everyone can get employment. There is no need for peace, investment etc. No need for hard work. Politicians and news traders have fuelled this unrealistic expectation for their own sake.
Contrary to that masses have to create GDP and an efficient government will have less employees. If everyone is teacher and clerk then from where will Govt. get tax, to pay them? And where they will get that many students/offices where those staff could be utilized?

Merit and Income based Reservation
People talk of merit, I don’t think much merit is required for the 95% of Govt jobs. Any educated sane person can perform work of a clerk, a peon, a second class officer is only little more demanding, not much. They dont develop rocket science at govt jobs. The reason why people want govt job is that they dont want to work and they want more black money, more loot.
Myth of some caste considering themselves meritorious is flawed. If a dalit had been treated equally they would have been equally competent. All humans groups have almost equal capacity. Anyways 99% Govt. employees have used their merit and skill to invent new ideas on how to loot the country and hide the black money.
How about no second person from a family being eligible to apply for govt job?
If you think about our body, no wise person will neglect his hand, he will love his and and it will grow strong. If it is another body then we like to enslave it, or wont care to give its nutrition food to that body. Blaming inefficiency on reservation is foolish. Court, Police, Hospitals all are inefficient in India, and despite the fact that mostly are manned and controlled by non-dalits.
Problem of high cast poor remain, but they have relatives, friends who are well off and who can guide them, in uplifting from poverty. I think all high cast well off people should not take govt jobs so that more is available for poors, like LPG subsidy. Compared to high cast poor, most of dalits have almost nobody in family who owns land, who is well educated or holds a good position in govt office, they cant get help.
The kind of talk most people do, is not factual, not worth listening, it is mostly rumour. Most of caste groups have many rumours related to their cast, leaders, politics etc, which is far away from the reality, people always lean to extreme on other side.

Merit is required for developing cutting edge technology, but most educated Indians have no interest in that, those who have they leave to USA and other countries, rightly as staying in India is like playing flute to buffalo. Most of PhD and MSc research in India are copying, plagiarism, with no original work, people like it.

Too much bragging doesnot change reality. A Rajput neighbour of mine had Ration shop licence on the name of Dhobi (SC). Everything is drama, all castes want reservation. 90% Indians are corrupt.

Barring 2-3, all my batch-mates said you are creating a communal problem, we have Muslim cooks in our mess, some said there are two Muslims in fourth year they will screw us. None of my 5-6 Jat batch-mates had courage to sign it (else they always talked about their bravery, race and unity), I forcibly took 20-30 signatures. Some guys called themselves Pahari Thakur and Rajasthani Royal Rajput, they all were pissing in their pants. There was one Sikh, he also didn't sign, but before he used to said that his ancestors were riding horse and were jamindars in Multan. To my surprise half of my friends who had RSS background they also backed out. They go sakha for yoga and time pass, to feel better.
Among language groups, one may find Bengalis, Maratha, Punjabis all have same problem. Mostly high caste people and upper OBC , who constitute most of affluent have made no attempts to address grievances of poor, dalits, adivasis. They don't care about it. The voice of downtrodden doesn't matter to them. They are dumb blockheads to high caste, they cant be civilized or taught, this is the same thing which fuels the fire. Dalits and low caste feel afraid and they talk silently in small groups which is not visible on the surface. This no reservation demand is one sided, only few castes have voice, other voice are suppressed. These unheard voices beneath have create tremors in the past, perfect example is Bihar where all positions were occupied by high casts in pre-mandal era and high cast Maithili Brahmins, Kayasths, Bhumihars called shots everywhere ignoring majority of masses.
It is among all castes, every caste discriminates the castes lower to it. Many know that Ranvir Sena committed many massacres of dalits in Bihar but few know it was Kurmis who burnt alive 40 dalits in Belchhi in Nalanda Bihar. But they cry when Bhumihars mistreat them. Simmering discontent among low castes in villages is very high often, which anti-nationals like Lalu, nitish, mulayams exploit. In many cases it is not the justice but greed which fuels politics. Oppression, Alibi for Hard Work
Half of OBC dont need reservation, but they exercise their numerical strength to enjoy the perks of corruption. Paswans of Bihar are as good as lower OBC but still they enjoy easy life as SCs and real SC like chamar and mushar dont get jobs, Meena of Rajsthan swallow all the jobs meant for poor STs of Jharkhand, Orrisa, and Chhatisgarh.
Reservation has become alibi for rich neo rich among SC/ST and OBC, to work less and get jobs. I have seen many OBC, SC/ST, who by no means will face any oppression, but it is these people who enjoy the reservation and Govt perks. They want this oppression concept to exist. Poor OBC and SC/ST still don't benefit. If there is any conscience, rich OBC and SC/ST should leave opportunity for poor.
In many places like in Mumbai, Delhi etc, nobody wants to know about cast, there is no difference. But many who enjoy reservation benefits they wish to keep discrimination on record so that they can keep enjoying benefits. There is a wish that if they are always labelled as low caste, they can always keep enjoying benefits.

If there had been equal land distribution after 1947, we would not have faced so much disparity, condition was that 20% people owned 90% land. There is a reason why people in UP and Bihar have craze for IAS. It's a modern Zamindari system...feudal societies love it. Reservation is about representation. Govt jobs are not technical anyway. Reservation is about parity in administration. Think of a police station where all Sub inspectors are high caste, they will never treat a dalit or low caste fairly. Currently all castes live in separate quarters in police stations in Bihar, in engineering colleges, medical colleges. Even professors provide special help to their own cast students.
I agree to BJP MP Hukumdev Narain Yadav, he asked to make it a rule to give all jobs to people who are progeny of inter caste marriages. I guess that will help in eliminating discrimination. But high castes and upper OBCs will never agree to it, because they also know they dont want to take everyone together, they want their own benefit.
Problem of high cast poor remain, but they have relatives, friends who are well off and who can guide them, in uplifting from poverty. I think all high cast well off people should not take govt jobs so that more is available for poors, like LPG subsidy. Compared to high cast poor, most of dalits have almost nobody in family who owns land, who is well educated or holds a good position in govt office, they cant get help.

Way Ahead: Long Term Need for Proper Mechanism to Identify Poor and Slowly Replacing Cast with Income Criteria
Reservation is not birth right till eternity, it has to go when there is more parity, and you cant create artificial dis-parity. When most people have access to basic education, health and shelter, reservation can be diluted. It is just a support. But until that time or until we develop alternate fair mechanism of helping poor and low castes, reservation should be there for them and it will be there as they have votes.
A mechanism for removing high income SC/ST/OBC from reservation and identifying mechanism to find out real poor regardless of class and slowly changing reservation to economic criteria (instead of caste) is need of hour, the process can take 50 years. If it is done correctly, it will be able to cover most of poor in dalits and poor in low castes. Presently Dalit and Low caste are afraid of economic based criteria being hijacked by few. At the same time, high cast who are extremely poor, they will also benefit (I must say mention here, the clamour against reservation is mostly by rich among high caste, not the poor, rich have enjoyed the bounty and they want it more).
