A word about morality, morality has differet meaning for different people. Tigers morality is to feed his stomach and his cubs. Nobody cares about how chickens feel during slaughter, when there is hunger or mood for party. Once you get into habit of eating chickens, your hunger is more important.

If my great grandfather owned an elephant, that doesn't say anything about me. Its time Hindus stop being just being nostalgic abut glories of the past and start sweating afresh. If we do that, we will certainly get honest journalists, politicians and bureaucracy.
Lack of interest in reason
Habit of reason doesn't build in one generation, reasoning is tricky thing, it takes generation after generation several generations. We have lost habit of it.
If there is a flip in thinking of all of hundred members of group, none of them will ever know it. If there is a group of hundred blind people none of them will ever know concept of light, all of us are blind to some extent. It affects Muslims much more than us. You cant see that your brain is misleading you, you can only see how someone else is being mislead and that someone also thinks he is perfect as you think about yourself. Our brain, our upbringing puts a cage around us. The moment we recognize monster in one face monster finds some different mask. Monster thrives on our inherent inability to reason.
So far after independence we Hindus have shown very little appetite and demand for reason.
Nobody questions, how can you say that "Biharis are politically suave "and "voting percentage in Bihar is always between 50-55%" in same breath? Very few people question why wife and son of Feroze Khan is Indira Gandhi not Indira Khan, Rajiv Khan and what is their connection with M.K. Gandhi. Most think they are all family of M.K. Gandhi. You accept it or not but white skin and foreign origin is asset of Sonia, Pappu in rural, semi-literate and even among some literate people. One of my friends was boosting to an Italian that we also have an Italian lady as de-facto supreme. But we say we are not racist. We do the worst, we do racism with ourselves, everything goes subconsciously in feelings (needs investigation why ?) without any application of reasoning anywhere. Here is a mass ready to accept everything if they can be fooled properly. Many find opportunity to shape our brain to further their interest. Everything with proper advertisement will sell, so why not focus on only advertisement (Here is what inspires Kejriwal in what he does) .
Another example away from politics, the way thousands gather to SatyaSai, and Nirmal Baba and go to graves of jihadi Moinuddin Chishti, Ghaji Salar, I find very distressing that people are always looking for magic to find solution to their problems.
Hindu waited for 1200 years to get rid of slavery. We are always passive. We don't want to ask uncomfortable questions why? We have not learned to say ourselves, we dont know it and we will work on it, we can be wrong because of ..... We are always confident about our ignorant views.
For Hindus, it was just a change in govt, nothing of their business. Since 712, All Muslim tribes kept coming, British came, it was all flutter-less (I don't believe in over hyped freedom movement, though there were some selfless who died for ignorant masses), it happened but nothing was happening to their home, their dharam (piety) was intact (by not touching food from Muslims and not marrying with them, though a neighbour was forced to eat, he was removed from cast). Totally insidious, interested in petty local stuff, had no interest in nation. Feeling of nation didn't exist. No interest in what is happening outside. No eagerness to change, learn new things. No willingness to accept that others can also pose talent or can think some things better than them. Lost in their own mind, with their own false invented realities. Industrial revolution and Renaissance is for them something which happened by magic, as if no thought or work was involved. Superior military tactics of Muslim armies of central Asia was never researched by local kings. Even after loosing hundreds of battles, they learned nothing themselves, nothing from enemies. Have we learned now?
Nothing has changed because still the attitude is not questioned.

I will tell one more personal observation: I had some Jewish friends who happened to be connected to political Jewish lobby. A community hundred times smaller than Hindus, with approximately 200 nobels till date. Jews have documented each and every detail during their 4000 years of history, nothing is left to myths or chance, every small incident is documented with date, author everything. They didn't have a land, no patronizers, no future. They question each and every thing in their political move. Their habit and attitudes have passed from generation to generation and each new generation kept adding. For us every time something is asked, we make zero effort to search truth, we come up with some easy convenient myth. We Hindus had everything, land, population, army, resources, but still it takes a British Henery Elliot (His book: History of India as told by its own historians is most authentic and referred book on Indian history till date), Canadian Tarek Fateh, a Belgian Koenraad Elst, a Trinidad born Naipaul to bring facts. If there is some smart person like Ambedkar or Savarkar we find hundreds of reasons to distance ourselves from their work. (Ambedkar, had some very good observations, but we chose to ignor him, because of his pro-Dalit stand, Savarkar a Brahmin, didn't get support of Maratha people in maharshtra, they supported Congress).
There is fine difference between ignorance and liberalism. A narrow minded person who is ignorant about country and has real attachment only to his ten bigha land in village, can very easily sacrifice his country and claim he is liberal. If you dont love your mother, leave her in village hut, but talk to friends in city about your background and how you struggled made achievements and your mother still lives in village hut (perhaps she lives there because she is burden to you and your wife and you dont want to bring her to city amid your posh friends), you can fancy yourself as a liberal forward looking but a sharp friend may question it. Fake liberalism of many Hindus fancies some western tourists, ourselves but not to muslims. They juggle through it, tear it and use it (they will use in any case, but now they laugh behind you apart from using).
So far majority of Indians have welcomed technology, we like cell phone, car etc. but we have not adapted to reason and scientific way to look at the problems. Most people are just spinning around by their own brain, due to their slippery grip on logic. Reason is most painful, it flings in the face of habits and ego.
Reason takes years to get acceptance. Europe saw renaissance 400 years ago, still they fought two world wars and made some of the biggest blunders. In 21st century majority of population in west doesn't know how to think, it has been limited to few who have interest. It is not part of curriculum anywhere in east or west. One of the things which every good willing human can do is to speak reason, pass the reason to others. Once somebody learns to reason he/she can solve many of the problems.
Once majority of Indians ask for rational debate, media will be forced to serve rational debate. Right now even if we have Modi govt, still it is Congress and Muslim think tanks which is controlling the institutions and rules of debate, they are masters. Brokers (news traders) are still thinking their good old days will come back (When Govt was patronizing media houses as means of maintaining their grip on people), Modi may not have complete grip on rajyasabha in future, Muslims will be very numerous and strong. Right now they don't think that Modi type development and reason based politics is here to stay forever. They will change their catering habits once they realize majority doesn't respond to their spin (which didn't happen in Delhi election, people voted as media wanted) and anti-people stance is proving costly.
India was golden bird because our ancestors were more reasonable than other tribes of the world, reason brought peace. Afterwards we quit reason and adopted luxury and dogma, our Kings didn't know when to fight, whom to fight and why, false emotions eclipsed their reason (Historian James Todd said "Rajput doesn't know why and how to fight, he just wants to die").
There is scope for not only solving contemporary problems of polity, society but also for future in which our heads will be held high. We must get into serious thinking instead of hurrying up to solutions to pacify ourselves. There was something missing, we must ask why we lost to Muslim invaders. Neither knowing yourself nor the enemy leads to defeat upon defeat.
Our strength lies in transformation, willingness to change and adapt. But to change we must question the existing. Dinosaurs became extinct because they could not adapt with time, Christianity is dying in west, Islam will also die some day. Only reason Hindu-Buddhist culture will survive longer (before it merges into single human identity as sought by sages) is the room it provides for reason, room for adapting to new information produced by coming generations and needs of humanity. We adapted to Rama, Buddha, Kabir, ten gurus of Punjab, Swami Vivekanand. We did not fix it to wisdom of one person who lived ten thousand year ago, we evolved all the time. When we write motivation letter for job, every next time we write it better and better, if we write once and don't revise then ? If Europeans have been satisfied with lollipop of Bible, they would never have discovered the modern science. I am not comparing Bible with Vedas, in-fact ancient Indians were very advanced in their understanding of human psychology which is origin of most human problems, but we must accept there is scope for improvement, that we can include some of new research and contradict something. Lollypop satisfaction can spoil the brightest student. On every society pressure to flatter themselves is much bigger than realization of inherent weakness, we are not exception.
There is no limit to human achievement and endeavour, future will bring much better thinkers than we remember, this is natural if one understands how time flows and evolution works. If not us then someone else will do it, so better jump. Bharat can become wishwa guru only if we produce young heroes (he/she) with best reasoning ability and character.
If we look into thinking process of ideologues of RSS, they tried to concentrate energy to change our home, they didn't go for politics, media and JNU. RSS couldn't achieve the expected after death of Guruji Golwalkar. I think it was upto some of the nationalists outside RSS, who should have focused on media and University campuses. ABVP was one attempt by RSS.
Savarkar : "ये हिन्दुस्थान का नक्शा जो हम बचपन से देखते आए हैं वो अब विच्छिन्न हो चुका है, दो टुकड़ो मे फाड़ दिया गया है, ये पाकिस्तान हिन्दुस्थान की छाति मे घुसा बान है, यह राज्य कौन सा है, किसने इसे बनाया? मुसलमानो ने नही, इंग्लेंड ने नही, हिन्दुओ ने इसे बनाया है, इसे हमने बनाया है, we created Pakistan. "
I am trying to raise two completely neglected issues. Its my humble request to raise more awareness on these.
(1) Muslims of India voted for pakistan in 1945 elections. Pakistan was created by and for Indian Muslims. The issue has been intentionally hid from history books. I accept any debate and verification.

(2) The way to counter Kashmir argument by Pakistan, and alibi of seculars that Kashmir a Muslim majority is symbol of Indian secularism (dispite genocide of Hindus), is that raise the issue of Hindu majority areas which were given to Pakistan and East Pakistan(Bangladesh).
