Indian Economy

We are very happy about GDP size these days. GDP size, what does it mean? How much money is spent on Growth drivers (R&D, Infrastructure, Education)?

GOI spends only 10% of budget on growth driver. Nearly half of the budget is spent on salaries and pension.

It is like old cow, you want to feed nothing, you want milk, flesh, bone everything.

Since every political party promises money to Public and Public wants more money from government, there should be a discussion on what is sources of money and where it is being spent.

Chart below shows both states and center combined.

As of today in 2025, China spends nearly $ 700 billion in R&D, whereas India spends only 25 billion.

How much awareness is there among highly educated people?

Somebody on the ground says that 90% MNREGA fund is distributed among people in system and  the person who signs gets 10% money.

We are waiting for westerners to invest more in services. China invested in infrastructure and science, we did not. That way we are going to stay mediocre country.

In India even private sector doesn't spend on R&D. Indian companies spend less than 1% of revenue on research and development. Companies in USA spend 8%.

Video above says about Malaysia "When your only value is cheap labor, the biggest threat is someone cheaper. Malaysia became expensive without getting better...While lot of people went to school, education system did not produce innovation. It produced graduates with degrees, with very few opportunities to apply them. In 2023 over 36% of Malaysian graduates were underemployed. Engineers were working as customer service representatives, degree holders were delivering food orders,  Graduates were selling insurance. "

Our USP is cheap labor and English.
India is losing even low cost manufacturing to Vietnam, Indonesia, Bangladesh.

At some point of time system needs to move from just cheap labor to creating own design engineering and products. That is not happening since last 30 years.
